SmartBRIDGE is a x86-based software gateway for Youtube content online encoding and streaming to IP STBs.
With SmartBRIDGE, IPTV subscribers have a service to search Youtube content through IP STB user interface. When a subscriber selects any video he/she wants to watch, SmartBRIDGE gateway requests the video file from Youtube, converts it and streams to subscriber's STB. From user experience point of view, searching and viewing Youtube content are similar to a standard VoD service.
Using SmartBRIDGE gateways, IPTV service providers can deliver new popular interactive service for their subscribers.
